CHAUVET® at Buddah Lounge

ROMFORD, Velika Britanija – Neko? turobno mjesto, danas je Buddah Lounge atraktivni no?ni klub. Brett Newton iz tvrtke Pro Effects instalirao je 20 CHAUVET®-ovih rasvjetnih tijela kako bi oživio jednom neugledni prostor. Osam Intimidator™ Spot LED 150 pokretnih glava i ?etiri Intimidator™ Scan LED 200 skenera daju energiju i dinamiku.

COLORado™ Illuminates Landmark Mexican Bridge

July 31, 2009

PACHUCA, MEXICO -- Since April, 180 CHAUVET® LED lights nightly cast hues of millions of colors showing off the columns and pillars of a new bridge in Pachuca, the capital of Hidalgo state, Mexico.

Only half of the bridge is lighted; soon workers will install an additional 180 fixtures along a second three-mile section, said Abraham Levit, owner of Novelties, S.A. the exclusive CHAUVET® Distributor in Mexico.

Located 58 miles northeast of Mexico City, Pachuca has become one of the country’s most advanced cities in recent years, Levit said. The bridge, which is earthquake-resistant, is part of a plan to modernize Pachuca’s infrastructure. “This is a very important bridge and the government wanted to show this engineering marvel,” Levit said.

A total of 130 COLORado™ 1 and 50 COLORado™ 6 wash bank fixtures were used for the project. The fixtures uplight 60 columns, the tallest of which is 84 feet, and 228 bridge sections along the Luis Donaldo Colosio Freeway, also known as Federal Highway 105.

Levit said COLORado™ fixtures were chosen because, with an IP66 rating, they can handle the harsh environment, are durable and also because of their low power consumption. “They also liked the colors and the ease of operation,” he added. “The lights produce a rich and vibrant wash and offer numerous color changes, which convert the roadway into a nighttime spectacle for those who travel along it.”

 Photos By: Paul Czitrom

The COLORado™ 1 comes with 36 1W RGB LEDs while the COLORado™ 6 operates with 108 1W RGB LEDs set in three pods.

The bridge project, which cost $18.2 million, seeks to address the Mexican government’s stated goals of improving the welfare of its population and the country’s sustainability. The lights qualify as environmentally friendly as their LEDs are long-lived. By shortening distances, the new highway also helps reduce the amount of gas and emission of pollutants, according to Pachuca Mayor Francisco Olvera, who spoke at the bridge’s grand opening event.

Funding for the project came from the newly created National Infrastructure Fund, which includes Mexican federal, state and private investments. The bridge project created 350 direct jobs and more than 1 million indirect jobs, according to a public works official. It accommodates 22,000 cars on a daily basis.

CHAUVET Lighting Complements Panoramic View of Las Vegas

January 9, 2009

Las Vegas -- How do you light an 11,000 square foot nightclub that has floor-to-ceiling windows featuring spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip and downtown from the 16th floor?  Very carefully, said a Production Product Manager at CHAUVET®.

This Florida-based company was selected to provide the lighting for the ONE Six Sky Lounge at Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel, which opened in mid December. CHAUVET’s Mike Graham, who was responsible for the lighting design, was awed by the views and wanted to make sure the lighting didn’t detract from them. The lounge offers spaces to sit and mingle, a dance floor, bar and a 1,700 square foot three-sided balcony.

“The club offers the best view of the Vegas Strip that I have ever seen,” Graham said. “I wanted to make sure that we did not interfere with the clean look of the room and the view.”  Graham added that the project management came to the table with an open mind to lighting design, but with two caveats – they had a limited budget and wanted as much LED lighting as possible to minimize operational costs.

“Our greatest challenge was the timing,” said Dave Tennant, director of Technical Entertainment for the company. “We got the go ahead for the lighting and sound just three weeks prior to our opening date.”

The Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel had already purchased CHAUVET® lighting and turned to the manufacturer once again. “When Mike came in, he had a vision of what would work; we took that and worked around the audio we were installing,” Tennant said. “It worked out great.”

Working with CHAUVET® dealer PRG Vegas to purchase and deliver the fixtures, the project came in on time and under budget, Graham said.

The Eastside Cannery Hotel & Casino architecture is themed from the industrial era, but the ONE SIX Sky Lounge features the panoramic views with an eclectic blend of classic motifs and modern furnishings to create an intimate and upscale setting. Warm and romantic red hues are offset by three large blue, cast glass columns that are lit from within. The chairs and chaises in the lounge area create an inviting atmosphere for relaxation and enjoyment of the cozy setting.

Here, lighting could become a distraction. But Graham used small fixtures hidden in the coves around the seating area.

On the dance floor, he selected Q-Spot™ 300s, COLORdash™ PARs and Vue™ II fixtures in locations that did not obstruct slightlines. He also used six MiN™ Wash fixtures for down lights on the back side of the bar to add in some extra depth and dimension to the overall lighting package, he said.

The lounge offers a vibrant mix of music, familiar comfort food served tapas style and a variety of signature cocktails.

The ONE SIX Sky Lounge is overseen by Las Vegas nightlife industry veteran Frankie Anobile, noted for opening and operating some of the most successful clubs on and off the world-famous Strip.  Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC owns and operates the Cannery Casino & Hotel in North Las Vegas. The company owns and operates two other casino resorts in the Las Vegas area as well as the Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Pennsylvania.

tombriderSAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- When Phillips Entertainment, Inc. wanted to portray a full-sized Jeep lost and broken down in a jungle, the company turned to CHAUVET ® Lighting’s Hurricane™ 1250 Fog Machine to simulate the steam coming from an overheated radiator.  The scene is situated in the lobby of TombRider 3D, part of an entertainment complex that also includes Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, Guinness World Records Museum and the Ultimate Mirror Maze and Laser Challenge.  More than 6 million people walk by the scene every year, which is located across the street from the Alamo, the No. 1 visited tourist site in Texas.

Castle Bathed in Pink Benefits Cancer Charity

November 3, 2008

pinkcastleIsle of Man, United Kingdom- CHAUVET® LED-fitted COLORado lights washed the historic Falcon Cliff castle in a stunning pink color, as a symbol of breast cancer awareness, during a fund- raising event of the Breast Cancer Care charity on the Isle of Man, in the middle of the Irish Sea.

The October affair, dubbed “in the Pink Day”, was the finale to a yearlong series of events that raised $55,500. During the event, the Isle of Man was renamed “Isle of Woman”.

The CHAUVET lights were selected because of their “vivid colors and spectacular brightness,” said Justin McMullin, owner of Event Lighting Services (ELS), the island’s leading stage and event lighting rental company that donated the lighting.

“Because of this we only had to use six fixtures in all to light up such a large building,” McMullin said.
ELS used four CHAUVET COLORado™ 1 wash lights and two COLORado™ 3 bank systems, both of which are ideal for outdoor use with an ingress protection (IP) rating of 66. The models offer full RGB color mixing, which afforded occasional changes in hues of the castle’s façade throughout the event.

Falcon Cliff, more than a century-and-a-half old, originally served as a residence for a banker. It later became a hotel and during the late 1880s, a large dance hall was added. The hotel, closed in the 1990s, was carefully restored as an impressive office complex and continues to be a prominent architectural landmark overlooking the sea and the promenade in the capital city of Douglas.

CHAUVET Lights Set the Mood for Ybor City Night Club

October 20, 2008

TAMPA, FL -- LED fixtures solved a big problem for the owner of a historic building who wanted to convert it into a popular night club in Ybor City, a historic entertainment district in Tampa, Fl.

castle1John Landsman, of Directions Media, handled the lighting design for the former Knights of the Golden Eagle social hall, built in 1930 and renamed the Castle (www.castleybor.com).  The building, designed to look like a castle, included offices, a saloon and a ballroom available for weddings, birthday parties and other events, Landsman said of the 12,000-square-foot structure.“Instead of having to add a full large electrical service to a historic building, we were able to add a small service by switching out conventional lighting to LEDs,” he said.

The improvement also saved money on electric bills and allowed club owner Alan Kahana to improve the air conditioning system, said Landsman, who formerly worked at the club and now consults on technical issues.castle2

In the early 1900s, Ybor City was known as the “cigar capital of the world,” drawing in immigrants to work in its cigar factories. But following the Great Depression, the popularity of cigarettes and suburbanization after World War II, the city emptied and was left to languish. In the 1960s, urban renewal projects led to the bulldozing of homes, businesses and factories to make way for an Interstate highway.

But in the 1990s, the remaining buildings were named to the National List of Historic Places to be preserved and the area became a tourist attraction and hot spot for nightlife.Kahana reopened the saloon in 1992 and three years later, renovated the remainder of the building to create the dance club. The interior look is a romantic-Gothic theme with a “glam” Dungeon, Landsman said.

castle3The old patio is now the courtyard whose centerpiece is a spectacular Banyan tree.  The Saloon remains and a smaller bar area upstairs is called the Red Room. The lighting installation, completed in August, came from CHAUVET®  manufacturer representatives Bay Stage Lighting and Sam Ash, both located in Tampa.

Landsman added 16 MiN Spots to highlight the ballroom. Programming of the intelligent fixtures came from Brett Lorins, who gave the Castle very versatile lighting looks for the varied events. Twenty-nine LEDrain™ fixtures create column-like beams down the perimeter walls. The Ballroom features a V-shaped bar over which hangs a massive Dahl De Vere glass tile chandelier.

“We played off the building and architectural elements,” Landsman said. “We wanted to contrast a high-touch interior with high-tech lights and video to give people something to talk about after they leave.”

The 3,800 square-foot Dungeon incorporated 18 CHAUVET LED COLORpalette™ fixtures with a DMX-512 controller that changes the color of the room. “Everything changes color – when it’s blue, everything is blue, when red, everything is red,” he said.

castle4The Castle, complete with a working mote incorporated into a marble bar top, has become popular with a diverse audience, Landsman said. The Castle was recently voted Best Dance Club in Tampa by readers of Creating Loafing Magazine.

Kahana and Landsman are looking at duplicating the nightclub in other cities. The men were so impressed with the service and prices from CHAUVET, that they plan to continue their partnership with the company.

“We are currently looking in Las Vegas and other cities for other Castles,” Landsman said. “And we will use 100 percent CHAUVET Lighting when we do.”

Microsoft's Zune House

September 30, 2008

zune1Los Angeles, CA- By day Microsoft’s Zune L.A. is a workspace and the marketing launch pad for Zune products; but by night California’s who’s who of the music, art and event-planning world take over the facility to enjoy multi-media, mojitos and music.

Global marketing for Zune, Microsoft’s answer to the iPod, is headed by Chris Stephenson who calls the space “a clubhouse for the creative community in L.A. – a place for people to gather and connect.”

Nights, it hosts by-invitation-only networking events for L.A.’s creative crowd as well as corporate-sponsored affairs that expose clients and attendees to the latest trends in art, design and music.

zune2Called in to “bring warmth and dynamic lighting to the project”, CHAUVET® dealer and installer Scott Ramsey of Broadcast Support, Inc. said he selected LED products as they fit the bill  for their coloring abilities and the savings in energy they afford. The entire space is strewn with fixtures, but the main concentration of LED lighting fixtures is in the uniquely round performance space. All told, the installation features 10 Q-Wash™ LED 36’s, 60 LEDsplash™ Jr’s, 6 COLORado™ 1’s and a D-Fi™ Wireless DMX system. Integrating a lighting system to reflect the proper tone for creative gatherings was key, said Jamaal Layne, Zune L.A.’s Event Manager. “With the LED lighting provided by CHAUVET, they have created and control the atmosphere and warmth of the space.”

Chiffon + LED = GLAM

September 3, 2008

chif1Hawaii, USA- “Easy in, easy out,” that’s how Lighting designer Tim Nelson of Maui-based MSP, summed up the flawless execution of the lighting design of an upscale corporate event recently held at the Grand Hyatt Kauai hotel.

Nelson specified 16 CHAUVET COLORado 6’s LED bank systems to meet several challenges, not the least being a potential fire hazard due to the fact the fixtures would be in constant touch with floor-to-ceiling chiffon curtains draped around the room’s perimeter.

Due to the choice of an all LED gear with minimal heat emission, “we never had to worry about that,” Nelson said.

Another challenge was the need to glamorize the room very quickly as there was not much time to prep the premise before the arrival of guests. The COLORado 6 units’ low weight – at 13kg or 29lbs each- and easy setup made installation a snap.

chif2Thirdly, the client had specified specific color schemes to set different tones throughout the dinner/dance affair. Nelson said the color choices and the color consistency offered by the fixtures were right on target. There was one set of color when the guests arrive, another when dinner was served and multiple colors when the band started playing. “The client loved it,” Nelson said, and “couldn’t believe that these were LEDs. These things are so damn bright, he said.”

Based in Maui, Hawaii, MSP, which stands for Major Show Productions, designs and produces shows ranging from concerts to corporate events.

CHAUVET goes Country with Grand Ole Opry

June 30, 2008

opry1Started as a radio broadcast in 1925, the Grand Ole Opry is often called “the home of American music.” Naturally, when country’s most famous stage decided to renovate the existing lighting show, each choice was scrutinized to the smallest detail. CHAUVET® COLORado™ 1 and COLORado™ 3 units were selected to replace 1000-watt cyclorama lights around the stage. Tyler Bryan, the Opry’s lighting director, says the COLORado™ units were chosen because they “blew the other units away.”

The first fixtures to be installed were 54 COLORado™ 1 units, which are used to illuminate separate vertical panels located around the stage for setting tone and ambiance as the backdrop for the stage itself.  The drop in electrical demand and increase in output has been remarkable, says Bryan, who added that LED technology has really caught up and surpassed many incandescent lighting sources.  In fact, the COLORado’s extreme brightness made filming challenging.  Bryan solved the problem by removing the focusing lenses from the units, creating a wash effect that he says, “reads well on television cameras and provides very even dispersion.”

opry2Twenty COLORado™ 3 wash lights were also installed at the Opry, with four in each of the “towers” located front stage left and right, another 12 units mounted near the walls, and one unit lighting the drum riser.  Wall-mounted units are set-up in two different manners, with some of the fixtures mounted directly to the “barn”, and others mounted to portable carts that can be moved in and out of the area depending on the requirements of the running show.

Powering the 75 COLORado™ fixtures is greatly simplified by their internal power supplies and ability to daisy-chain.

With at least one live weekly televised broadcast from the Opry (GAC Saturdays 7PM EST), having product readily available and working properly upon arrival was of utmost importance. Bryan says, “We hooked up 75 units without a single failure…things could not have gone smoother with CHAUVET® and (retailer) Bandit Lites.”

CHAUVET on tour with MySpace Records' Sherwood

May 19, 2008

myspace1Newly signed to Myspace records, the band Sherwood is hitting the road again this spring on a national tour through nightclubs and college auditoriums to support their newest album, A Different Light. Sherwood enlisted Lighting Designer Will Kent to build a lighting show that would work well with any existing setup at the diverse venues.

Kent specified 8 CHAUVET COLORado™ 3 LED bank wash lights, mounting them to face the audience in a blinder configuration. Featured on multiple tours and installations during the past year, the COLORado™ 3 is powered by 54 LEDs arranged into three pods and capable of producing an output of 7,270 lux at 1 meter

“The COLORado™ 3 units allow us to wash the audience, or the ceiling, or the band, or anything we desire with color, alternating between different hues, and give the impression of an extremely low-res video unit when needed…I love them!” says Kent.

myspace2Sherwood’s new tour is a far cry from earlier ones, when band members had to juggle the dual tasks of selling records at malls during the day and performing at self-booked tours at night. Formed in 2002, while members of the band were attending Cal Poly State University, Sherwood first garnered national attention with the release of their debut album, “Sing, But Keep Going.” Sold at concerts only, it showcased their trademark sound of feel-good upbeat rock. A Different Light, the band’s latest album, promises to strengthen the band’s deep personal connection with fans with “power pop melodies” and “thoughtful, sincere lyrics.”

L&M Sound and COLORado 1 Get Festive at the Manor

April 15, 2008

lmwaterfall1Secaucus, NJ- For the grand opening of the Manor rehabilitation facility, lighting designers at L&M Sound solved the challenge of creating a festive atmosphere in the sterile environment of a hospital with CHAUVET COLORado™ 1 wash lights.  In a test of its IP66 rating, one unit was submerged in a fountain, transforming it into a striking centerpiece of ever-changing hues.  The remaining COLORado™ 1's bathed walls in a creative use of contrasting and complementary colors.

LEDrain 56 Units Up the Ante at Charity Event

April 15, 2008

charity1Montgomery, Texas - Cory Bean, of Dynamic DJ Productions, utilized 6 CHAUVET® LEDrain™56 units to create mood and atmosphere at a Stewart Creek elementary school fundraiser, prompting the organizer to proclaim what a difference the 6 wash lights made in an otherwise bland room.

By controlling the units via DMX controller, Bean was able to match the color scheme of the event with hues of purple and pink during dinner and a silent auction. Later, Bean was able to switch the lights to a linked color-change effect, as participants began filling the dance floor.

charity2The fundraiser generates between 60,000 and 70,000 dollars in donations annually, and in previous years paid for new playground equipment, new computers for teachers, and a new computer lab for students.

“I chose the LEDrain™56 units because their narrow beam angle makes for more effective up-lighting,” says Bean, who credits Entertainment Systems for a solid product recommendation.

Believe It! CHAUVET on Display at Ripley's

March 28, 2008

ripley1Within the “black hole” display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium! in New York, NY are a number of CHAUVET® LED Shadow™ units which provide ambient and effect lighting.  Ripley’s chose the LED Shadow™ units for their space-saving design, energy efficiency, and extended longevity as compared to incandescent fixtures.

In addition to being used as part of the black hole display, the lights are used to light a replica of the Venus de Milo that has been tattooed in UV reactive ink, the tattoos becoming visible when the light is activated. The LED Shadow™, a 3-channel DMX-512 UV blacklight, features adjustable flash rate, dimmer, and static modes, in addition to built-in automated and sound-activated programs.

superbowl1A striking ice sculpture of the Super Bowl logo lit by CHAUVET COLORado™ 3 units greeted 1,200 VIP guests at a pre-2008 Super Bowl party hosted by the Super Bowl committee on February 1st at Hayden Ferry Lakeside, a mixed used development in the heart of Phoenix. “The Fabulous Friday Night Party”, as it was dubbed, honored sponsors of the Super Bowl and featured a performance by rock legend Kenny Loggings.

Lighting designer Todd Stover, of Scottsdale, Arizona-based Merestone event company, installed 6 CHAUVET COLORado™ 3 units to illuminate the sculpture and wash it in ever-changing hues. The COLORado™ 3 washlights’ well-established ruggedness and resistance to the rigors of rain and snow was key to their selection, Stover said.

CHAUVET MiN Spots Light Up the Father's House

February 21, 2008

father1Vacaville, CA- When The Father’s House decided to modernize their lobby to welcome people for services and conferences, they chose LED-fitted MiN Spot moving yokes for their diminutive size, distinctive performance and striking allure. Unlike moving yoke LED washes, the CHAUVET MiN™ spots are among a rare breed of LED-fitted gobo fixtures making their first steps into the lighting industry.   According to Kevin Ohlin, lighting designer at The Father’s House, the MiNs are not only “really nice”, but also “performed extremely well live.”

The MiN™ units are mounted on small pieces of trussing suspended in the main lobby, where their diminutive size (6.8” x 6.8” x 9.8”) makes them as unobtrusive as possible to the décor.  To welcome worshipers either for scheduled services or conferences, custom gobos were fitted into the fixtures. Standard specifications and features such as a pan range of 540° and a tilt range of 270°, RGB color mixing, a 9-slot gobo wheel, dimmer, strobe, and built-in movement macros allow users to configure the light to meet their individual needs. Installation is greatly eased by an exceptionally low unit weight of under 9lbs.

father2Since the lights will be on for extended periods of time, the use of LED technology creates additional benefits as well.  The lobby area remains cooler than in an environment lit by traditional, incandescent lamps. Secondly, power demands stay low, a bonus to any organization that is operating within a budget.  Lastly, as cited by Ohlin, with the fixtures mounted in the ceiling, the longevity of LED technology is a huge advantage over incandescent lamps, where bulbs would need to be changed regularly.

The fixture’s aesthetics also are a major selling point.  “The MiN™ Spots are the best looking, small, impact lights on the market today,” says Ohlin.

Icy Cool COLORado

February 21, 2008

aurora1Chena Springs, AK- There is a place where getting cold feet on your big day and throwing a chilly reception afterwards is perfectly fine. It’s the Aurora Ice Museum, one of the most impressive hand-carved ice structures anywhere, at almost 6,000 square feet, and standing an hour away from the bustle of Fairbanks.

Open year-round, it showcases the work of award-winning husband and wife team, Steve and Heather Brice, including a two-story observation tower, a spiral staircase, chandeliers, and life-size chess set and jousters on horseback, among other creations carved from over 1,000 tons of ice. Calling it a museum, however, belies the resort perks it also offers, with a full ice bar complete with Appletinis served in ice-carved glasses, four bedrooms for rent, each with a separate theme, ice furniture and, yes, even an ice altar.

aurora2The museum remains at a brisk 20 degrees Fahrenheit year-round thanks to an absorption chiller that keeps it cold enough to withstand the rising temperatures during summer months.  Lighting the interior to accentuate the details in the carvings without generating heat presented a serious challenge. Steve and Heather Brice selected CHAUVET fixtures out of familiarity with the line.

They had participated in March in the Ice Alaska Art Championships where the COLORado™ 1 and COLORado™ 3 wash lights had illuminated ice sculptures of artists from around the world, including their own. When they learned that Ice Alaska’s organizers had put the very same fixtures up for sale, the Brices purchased them without hesitation.

aurora3The units’ IP66 rating, rugged casing and use of LEDs make them perfect for an application that is sensitive to heat and requires a strong resilience to outdoor elements, with the fixtures being submersed in water, frozen into blocks of ice and then suspended and expected to perform in persistent 200 F temperatures.

CHAUVET adds new life to The Mortuary

January 25, 2008

mort2New Orleans, LA-In a town where haunts are so prevalent that Halloween is termed the “second Mardi Gras”, The Haunted Mortuary manages to stand out, billing itself the world’s first interactive paranormal observatory, lab, and museum “actively haunted” by ghosts and certified by the International Society for Paranormal Research (ISPR).

CHAUVET COLORado™ 1 units highlight the gothic architecture of the three-story tall, 14,000-square-foot structure, giving front columns an ethereal glow akin to the “ghosts” within and creating the illusion of a building that has risen from the miasmatic ground.

mort1Installed and programmed by local CHAUVET distributors PSX, the units have made lighting an integral part of the surreal experience. “The lighting has become a landmark to look for on Canal Street, it is how people find us, and it gives the building a great eerie effect,” says Mortuary Manager Trampus Hock.

mort3Round-the-clock events include free-style ghost hunting of 11 ISPR-certified ghosts, tours of the facility, participation in paranormal experiments, metaphysical classes and workshops, themed screenings of documentaries and feature films.

CHAUVET Lights Wornall Street Bridge

January 25, 2008

bridge1Kansas City, MO- Renowned for their yearly holiday lighting display, Country Club Plaza recently shed some light on the Wornall Street Bridge with the help of Kansas City Power and Light and Animated Lighting, a market leader in providing hardware and software for synchronizing and controlling lights, music, and special effects.

For over 75 years, the Plaza has been displaying over 80 miles of holiday lights throughout Kansas City’s premier entertainment district.  This year 4 CHAUVET COLORado 3 units and 8-COLORado 1 units were installed at the Wornall Bridge, incorporating it into the display. The bridge can be fully powered by less than 15 amps of current draw though over 6,000 channels of DMX are being utilized for control. It will remain lit throughout the year with varying color schemes.

“The CHAUVET COLORado units were chosen for their outstanding performance and IP65 rating,” said Animated Lighting owner Paul Smith.  The lights so far have survived two months of cold Mid-western winter maintenance free, he said.

Illuminating the bridge with less electricity than most people use to light a single room in their home has generated great interest. Kansas City Power and Light cited the all-LED installation as exemplary of its “Energy Optimization” plan.

Christmas in Minnesota a LOT Greener this year

December 19, 2007

christmas1Saint Paul, MN- Greeting those seeking some extra holiday spirit at the governor’s mansion is a Christmas tree standing over 20 feet and illuminated by 3-CHAUVET® COLORado™ 3 units installed by Norcostco.  The units allow the color of the tree to remain in a constant state of flux, leading passers-by to wonder, “How do they do that?”  A CHAUVET® COLORado™ 1 lights the Christmas wreath, and surrounding area, above the front door.  The units are all running through preset programming, and provide remarkable illumination.

christmas2Making the switch from incandescent to all-LED lighting has saved a considerable sum of money, with power bills dropping from $1,300.00 to approximately $130.00, and carbon emissions from 18.7 tons to about 4 tons, according to an estimate from the Minnesota State Energy Office.  The IP65 rating of the COLORado™ units is getting a rugged test, with temperatures cold enough to prompt Norcostco director of Technical Projects Rob Koontz to comment, “I lost the feeling in my index finger taking these pictures.”
